Carousel Finds a Home!

The Carousel of the Olympic Sea has found a home and you’re invited to a preview.

The Port Townsend Carousel Association of Port Townsend, Washington, donated the Carousel of the Olympic Sea to the city of Waveland , Mississippi . Donating the carousel to Waveland (and the transportation to deliver it there) was a very happy ending to a quest which took thousands of donated dollars and over twenty years to accomplish.

Waveland resident, Ted Longo, volunteered to work with Steve Hill of Port Townsend to arrange delivery of the colorful pieces.
The carousel will be installed in a pavilion as part of the Coleman Avenue downtown reconstruction project.

Join Waveland residents in a preview of “the flying horses” at the Longo Pavilion on Magnolia Street , Waveland, Tuesday, October 28. at 10 a.m. The Waveland Community Coalition in cooperation with the City of Waveland will place carousel figures in community buildings around Waveland for the public to enjoy until it’s located in its permanent home.
